Quincy Real Estate
Known by outsiders as the City of Presidents, City of Legends, and the Birthplace of the American Dream, Quincy which is apart of Metropolitan Boston is known by residents as an urban commercial and business center serving surrounding towns. In its history, Quincy is known for heavy industry, manufacturing, granite quarrying, and ship building. Linked to Boston by rapid transit, Quincy has some characteristics of a suburban bedroom community, while retaining the earmarks of an urban center with its strong commercial and shopping areas. The population as of the latest figure coming from the 2010 Census was 92,271 and a land mass of 26.9 square miles. Within the town there are some nice beaches, notably the largest being Wollaston Beach, as well as a large total of 23 percent of the town being occupied by a state park managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, known as the Blue Hills Reservation. There are many educational institutions in Quincy, such as a Catholic School, a Montessori School, a College prep school, Quincy College, Eastern Nazarene College, two public high schools, five public middle schools and twelve public elementary schools. Quincy’s location make it extremely easy for transportation with the Norwood Memorial Airport, or to commute to Boston or connect to surrounding areas such as nearby towns and the Logan International Airport.
