Sharon is a beautiful small town located in Norfolk County in Massachusetts. In 2010, holding a population of just over 17,500, Sharon is the ideal place to live for those who intend to commute to work in Boston or Providence. Being a part of ‘Greater Boston’, Sharon lies only 17 miles southwest of the Hub. With 24.2 square miles of its own territory, Sharon embodies everything one would hope for with a small town feel while still being mere minutes to large shopping and dining areas, sporting events and the rest that comes with the bigger city lifestyle. 

Not all that attracts visitors and locals alike to Sharon results from its close proximity to various surroundings. The Sharon Public School System is also a drawing factor. With five schools ranging in grade levels, there are small classroom possibilities with teachers paying a great attention to detail with each and every one of the resident pupils. The Middle School began renovations in 2010, it must be noted, and is set to be completed in the Summer of 2012. Furthermore, Sharon High School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Schools award by the U.S. Department of Education. This, as it turned out, was one of only two towns in Massachusetts to get this praise. 
 
Other notable parts about Sharon are the lovely Lake Massapoag, Massapoag Trail, the Warner Train, the Bay Circuit Trail (otherwise known as the Beaver Brook Trail), and the King Philip’s Rock Trail. There are also a number of trails at Borderland State Park and at Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary.
