Getting Around Boston Got Easier and Greener

Boston Hubway Bike Share Program Makes Commuting in Boston Easier and Greener

Green Living in Boston

Cyclists and environmentalist rejoice! The bike share program has arrived!

New Balance and the city of Boston recently introduced the Hubway system, a network of more than 600 bikes at 60 stations, that will alter the way many residents will travel around town.

During its debut ceremony, hundreds of cyclists sporting the New Balance bikes were present at City Hall Plaza, July 28. Mayor Thomas M. Menino was also there to kick off the program and he expressed his support for Hubway.

This is a great day for Boston, he said. New Balance Hubway promotes a new, environmentally friendly way of getting around and I hope that all residents use the system.

The innovative program is intended, not only to be a transportation alternative, but also help promote health, reduce pollution and decrease traffic. It has caught national and international popularity in recent years, showing huge success in cities like Paris and Montreal.

Now that it has arrived in Boston were excited to see it become a success in our own city. There are so many great things to experience and explore around town, and with the new eco-friendly mode of transportation, everything will become that much more accessible.

If you love the city life and care about the environment, then Boston is the place to be. Now is the perfect time to find a home or apartment.
