The Sotheby's Auction is to be held on the 23rd of November

A variety of products designed by Apples Senior Vice President, Jonathan Ive, and Australian designer, Marc Newson, are to be auctioned off by the (RED) charity on the 23rd of November at Sothebys in New York City. The most popular and highly anticipated item is undoubtedly a blade-like aluminium desk, known as the (RED) Desk, which for a one-time production is going to be offered on this forthcoming day in history.

With 185 interlocking cells that create quite the miraculous pattern, the legs were even machined from solid pieces of aluminium by a company in California known as Neal Feay Studio. On the desk itself, there is also an inscription of authentication stating, Designed by Jony Ive & Marc Newson for (RED) 2013 edition 01/01.

This day for Sothebys will see all proceeds benefit the (RED) charity and supports their strong efforts to win the fight against malaria, tuberculosis, and AIDS. Thus far since 2006, Apple Inc. alone has helped raise upwards of $65 Million for the (RED) charity.

In addition to the (RED) Desk, among the other more notable products available at auction will be a Leica Camera made by these same very gentleman. Jonathan Ive, ever-so proud about the final result of this masterpiece, came forward to report that, "Leica represents the confluence of precision engineering, world-class lens technology and design principles which elevate both function and form. Designing this very special camera for the (RED) Auction has been a privilege for myself and Marc, and its sale on 23 November will generate funds so critical to the fight to end AIDS." Mr. Newson, then was reached for comment and stated, "With nearly 1000 prototype parts and more than 725 hours of manufacturing time, the winning bidder will own a piece of exquisite imaging history. The attention to each and every detail of this camera from its outer shell to the magnificent optics will delight a collector who appreciates the absolute pinnacle of craftsmanship."

It goes without saying that the 23rd of November at Sothebys in New York City will be quite the occasion. From these items to even a pair of solid gold Apple earbud headphones, it is with great enthusiasm that we at Gibson Sothebys International Realty can be affiliated with such a forward-thinking brand like Sothebys who always hold such events with the only goal being to benefit a valued charity and help those in need.
