201-yellow-and-blue-girlJPEG-300x260The 23rd annual Cambridge Carnival Parade will be held on Sunday, September 13th. Rain or shine, the largest festival in Cambridge, will begin at 12:30pm at Blackstone Street and River Street. The free Carnival will then make its way up to Massachusetts Avenue and Main Street and finish up in Kendall Square.

Largely popular, this festival is a day planned entirely by the community and for the community. It includes a grand costume parade with Masqueraders and dance troupes performing. Be sure to check out the international stage with bands playing African, Caribbean, reggae, Haitian, calypso and Compa music.

Additionally there will be an entire KidFest for ages 5-14 where they can enjoy a variety of interactive activities such as face painting, stilt walking, arts and crafts, a balloon artist, a puppet show, sand art and much more!

The parade is a wonderful way to celebrate the great diversity in Cambridge and to bring people together relishing in tons of international food and dance. With all ages welcome, it is set to be filled with activities for everyone to enjoy!
