Boston Real Estate News: Former Suffolk University Building to Become Luxury Condominiums

suffolkThe highly anticipated development at 32 Derne Street on Beacon Hill is underway! This former Suffolk University building, Fenton, which housed classrooms and faculty offices, was recently sold to a Boston-based, real-estate development firm and will be converted into 14 new luxury condominiums. Included inthese 14 condominiums, the luxury building rightfully named the Whitwell, will bea penthouse with over 6,200 SF of living space.

This penthouse marks the second priciest listing on the market in Boston listed for an extraordinary $13,700,000. Features throughout this 20 room spread include a landscaped terrace, 12-foot high ceilings, ceiling-to-floor windows and two parking spaces.

A replacement building for the university has just completedconstruction this past summer on Somerset Street, and will provide a more central campus for the students and faculty members around the Somerset/Ashburton/Tremont area.
