To those looking for a good laugh and a good cause, stop by the Knights of Columbus Hall in Charlestown for a Comedy Night featuring Steve Sweeney and the Improv Asylum! On the 25th of October, the Gillen family are holding a charity event to benefit the Brothers of Mercy Saint John of God, whose very own family member is a brother.
Brother Francis Gillen, who nurses by degree, travelled to the Philippines and established a hospital to care for the homeless and disabled. The Gillen family resides right here in Charlestown, and is looking for any donations or ticket purchases for their event. It will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 7:00pm to 9:00 with doors opening at 6:00pm. Tickets are going for $15, and table reservations for ten are going for $150.00. The hall, bartender, food, and raffles are all donated or volunteered, so the expenses will go directly toward this cause.
