Boston Ballet kicks off its season later this month with the North American premiere of Ivan Liskas masterpiece.
Le Corsaire (The Pirate) chronicles the journey of Conrad, a debonair pirate, as he searches for his beloved Medora, a beautiful harem in the hands of slave traders. It is a brilliant marriage of some of the greatest juxtapositions: passion and danger, and romance and adventure.
The ballet displays the magnificent artistry of the entire company through its elaborate sets, lavish costumes, and majestic dancing.
This epic love story, which has captivated audiences since 1856, premieres at Boston Opera House October 27 and plays until November 6.
