Agent Spotlight: David Ashton

DavidAshton

David Ashton, Gibson Sotheby's International Realty.

You are one of the few agents in Boston with the Certified International Property Specialist Designation (CIPS), making you a crucial player in today's global real estate market. How has the CIPS network added value to your clients?

Global real estate opportunities are everywhere. People move to Boston from other countries every day. Foreign-born individuals residing in Massachusetts move to new markets and Americans here in the Bay State are looking to invest in property overseas. The CIPS designation provides me with the knowledge, research, network and tools to globalize and expand my business. Global transactions are significantly different and more complex than domestic deals. From currency issues and financing to visa and tax laws, working with a REALTOR who knows how to handle these differences can make or break a real estate transaction. Being a member of both the CIPS designation program and the Sothebys International Realty family allows me to work from a worldwide platform that embraces the best practices approach to working with both international and domestic clients.

If you had to sum up your business mission to a stranger in less than ten words, what would those words be?

Providing unrivaled client real estate service both locally and internationally.

Are there any new projects or endeavors you are working on that you are extra excited about?

I travel to Europe frequently, and am very excited to establish working relations with my new connections through the Certified International Property Specialist program and especially with my peers at Sothebys International Realty locations worldwide. The Sothebys International Realty brand has opened doors of opportunity to me that are unrivaled on a global scale, allowing me to provide a level of bespoke service to both my domestic and international clients.

What is the most satisfying part of your career?

To make the seemingly unattainable a reality for my clients.

Describe your perfect day off.

Touring the hill country of Tuscany where my family maintains a home. In fact, I will be doing just that this holiday season.
