300 industry leaders from Sothebys International Realty affiliates from all over traveled to Boston for Gibson Sothebys International Realtys first annual Boston Networking Event, a day of networking and groundbreaking industry insights held this yearat the world-famous Boston Public Library. Spanning two days, the official function gave all those who attended the opportunity to create valuable business connections with the worlds most talented real estate professionals at an event like no other.
It was also a time of celebration, as Colleen Barry, CEO of Gibson Sothebys International Realty,highlightedthe firm's mostnotable achievements from the past year. In 2019, REAL Trends, the trusted source for news and research for the real estate brokerage industry, recognized Sothebys International Realty as the #1 Massachusetts-based firm by sales volume and average sales price, the #11 Sothebys International Realty affiliate in the country by sales volume, and the #100 firm in the country by sales volume.
The event kicked off with a property tour of some of Gibson Sothebys International Realtys listings throughout Bostons South End and Back Bay neighborhood. A champagne saberingThe St. Regis signature ritualcommenced the opening reception in Bostons Seaport later that evening, which featured an inside look at The St. Regis Residences, Boston.
The following morning, Larry Rideout, Chairman and Co-Owner of Gibson Sothebys International Realty, and Nicole Rideout, the firms Director of Business Development, delivered a heartfelt welcoming address recounting the companys from its modest beginnings to its current culture ofmore than 300 associates strong. Together, Larry and Nicole reiterated the importance of preserving a people-first workplace culture, and discussed how Gibson Sothebys International Realty never waived when it comes to taking care of its people.Its this unyielding care that has led Gibson Sothebys International Realty to bring the best associates and staff onboardpeople who remain relentless in creating delivering industry-leading service.
More than 30 Sothebys International Realty affiliate members and partners played anintegral part in the sessions, serving as moderators, guest speakers and expert panelists to share advice, best practices and personal experiences with their peers. Matthew Ferrarawas the headlining keynote speaker, discussing ones journey of distinguishing themselves in a saturated real estate market, which includes a focus on authenticity and a keen understanding of the consumer. In addition, Julie Leonhardt LaTorre, COO of Sothebys International Realty, shared groundbreaking company updates and new brand technologies for creating unique client experiences. Attendees heard from an insightful panel of affiliates moderated by Richard Silver, Senior Vice President of Sales at Sotheby's International Realty Canada, and learned the steps to thriving in a shifting market from Stan Ponte, Senior Global Real Estate Advisor and Associate Broker with Sothebys International Realtys Upper East Side Brokerage.
Following the general session, the crowd was addressed by diverse group of subject matterexperts on the following topics:
- Sorting through the noise of the tech landscape.
- Techniques for great storytelling that strengthens client relationships for life.
- The impact of millennial money on the housing market.
- Habits and hidden strategies of top producers from across the country.
- Enhancing business and garnering exposure from Sothebys International Realtys brand resources.
