Why did you decide to pursue a real estate career?

I was working as an elementary school teacher 15 years ago and needed a change in career. I had recently bought my first house in 2004, and like many people after experiencing the process, I was enamored by real estate, specifically by the difference a good agent makes in helping people through one of the most difficult and daunting decisions in life. During my own home search, I was frustrated and discouraged by the first few agents I met and ultimately ended up with a great agent on my side. This led me to think there might be a place and need for a different approach to the business.

What is one thing your clients find comfort in that make them turn to you for their real estate needs?

I always tell people I am in the business of building relationships and that sales come second. My number one goal is making sure that my clients reserve excellent service and they know that any suggestions or recommendations are in their best interest, even if it means not buying or selling for the time being. Working with me, my clients love that they know they will never be pressured into a decision.

What are some of your favorite local activities or organizations that you participate in?

I live in Arlington with my wife and three young boys. We live on Spy Pond and we love to kayak and paddle board as often as possible. We are in a small neighborhood association called Kelwyn Manor and there are many other young families that gather at the park and get together in the neighborhood. We like to volunteer at the Hardy Elementary school, where our boys attend, and try to be active in what is happening around town.

What about the Cambridge and/or Boston area lifestyle excites you most?

I love that we work in an urban setting but there are so many opportunities to be outdoors and escape from the city when needed. I live in an urban setting that has a touch of the country as well. There are so many great restaurants, museums, and activities at your fingertips. Cambridge has become a very vibrant and exiting place to live, and continues to draw people from all over.

Describe your perfect day off?

A round of golf in the morning, playing with my three boys in the afternoon, and then an evening of good food and drink with my wife.
