Best Comfort Food on The South Shore

Here now are the colder temperatures and the chilly days where we seek refuge in what brings comfort cozy blankets, wood-burning fires, classic holiday movies, and of course, the ultimate pleasure comfort food. We asked a few of our Hingham and Cohasset team members for the scoop on their go-to comfort dishes and where to find them on Massachusetts South Shore.

1. Shepards Pie, Tinkers Son.

The Shepards Pie is ridiculous, says agent Danielle Deeb. Makes me just want to cozy up to a fire and be around my family. Its completely nostalgic. I love it. Pair it with a cold beer and Im in heaven. Tinkers Son, 707 Main Street, Norwell.

2. Short Ribs, Riva.

Rivas Short Ribs are to die for, says agent Maryann Zaccardi. Theres nothing I love more than hunkering down in their back bar and enjoying a cozy meal. Riva, 116 Front Street, Scituate.

3. Meatloaf, Schooners.

Is there anything more comforting than classic meatloaf? says agent John Wolff. Tastes like home. My favorite is from Schooners, the coziest little pub you can find. Schooners, 157 Nantucket Ave, Hull.

4. Homemade tagliatelle, rag Bolognese, Alma Nove.

For a great night out, but with the comfort and feel of home, you must try the Bolognese at Alma Nove. Its my absolute favorite and believe me, soon to be yours, says agent Ashley Brennan. Alma Nova, 22 Shipyard Drive, Hingham.

5. Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Square Cafe.

Warm, caramelized, crispy. Its a nostalgic dish, but not the typical veggies your parents fed you, says Kirsten ODonnell. They are surprisingly filling and just so comforting. Square Cafe, 150 North Street, Hingham.

6. French Onion Soup, French Memories

Honestly, I feel like Ive stepped inside a charming bistro in Paris whenever I go to French Memories. On a rainy, cold day, there is nothing better than digging into a cup of their French Onion Soup. Its perfection. French Memories, 60 South Main Street, Cohasset.

7. Mushroom Ravioli, Mezzo Mare

Homemade, delicious, filling, yet believe me I can eat the entire dish, says Gail Cannon. The flavors of the raviolis are incredible. I look forward to them every time I dine here. Mezzo Mari, 245 Nantasket Avenue, Hull.

8. Lobster Baked Pasta, Tosca

Its a decadent dish for sure, but total comfort food, says Marketing Specialist Kate Rogan. Can you beat the combination of buttery lobster and fresh pasta? And the energy and atmosphere at Tosca is so cozy, while still being super upscale. Tosca, 14 North Street, Hingham.
