What did you do before real estate and how did you get started in the business?
Even before I was "in" real estate, I wasin real estate! My husband, Don Minchello, was in the industry, and with mymarketing background, I frequently assisted him with marketing himself and properties. After years as an agent and Director of Sales, my husband and I purchased our own Sotheby's InternationalRealty franchise in 2011 with two offices in Hingham and Cohasset. This opportunity allowed me to experience, navigate, and become investedin the Sotheby's International Realty brand. In 2018, we merged our offices with Gibson Sotheby's International Realty and my network and passion for real estate continued to grow. Now, after years in an executive role at the brokerage, my husband Don has returned to selling real estate full-time and joins me in an exciting new business partnership!
What is something your clients find comfort in that makes them turn to you for their real estate needs?
Patience. The process of buying and selling can come with much anxiety, but I create an organized, thorough process for both buyers and sellers. While my kids may not think patience is my best trait (ha!), something about being in control of a situation and a resource for clients brings me a sense of calm and confidence that transfers to the entire process.
What are some of your favorite local activities or organizations that you participate in?
When I'm not working or being mom to four kids, you can find me at a much-needed yoga or barre class. As a certified yoga teacher, I'm a yogi at heart, but barre is a very close second for the mental challenge it brings! I'm also proud to be involved as a parent representative for Dexter Southfield School as well as public schools in my town.
What do you love most about where you live and work?
I love my home. Built in 1928, it is a quintessential New England Colonial with character and warmth. But what I love mostabout living here is theflexibility and convenience it provides to my family. I can work with clients in a variety of areas, from Boston down to the South Shore, and even parts of Routes 95 and 24. My children can easily commute to school at Dexter Southfield in Brookline, and we are centrally located to so many family and friends. I'm also a big fan of New England wintersI love the snow and cold!
What are three sources of joy in your week?
- Early Mornings.
- Organized Home.
I love being the first one awake each morning, using that time to have my coffee, take a class, and set the tone and schedule for my day. Sometimes that schedule includes cleaning and organizing my home (a lot during the pandemic!), but a simplified, clean home makes me feel recharged and clear-minded...much needed traits for a mom and Realtor!
In January I set out to make this my year of getting back to reading. I thought a goal of 20 books for the year was pretty hefty given my busy schedule, but I'm proud to say I'm on book number 21 and it's only July! Happy to share any book recommendations!
